Tried NPDB for the first time today:) finally making it come true after sooooo long..hmm not bad though:P I may have sucked at rowing but everyone is very encouraging:D thx a lot!!:D esp to yihui!!:D love love<3 my body's aching lik hell..erm..but there's this great sense of accomplishment:D and I swear my butt is aching lik hell..and got many blisters:/ and there are 2 different shades of colour on me now:P finally have a feel of tht:P other than the one on my feet:P okay tht's abt it..kinda looking forward to tue trng?:P

Back From Batam!!

Hellooooo! I'm back frm Batam:D 5 days of my life well spent bringing joy to other ppl's life. Batam days have been fun and enjoyable. I've learnt a lot from this 5 days, probably lessons and values that will follow me for life. During this trip, we went to 5 orphanages- Viran, Gracia, Bethesda, Kalifatulah and St Theresa. We helped the kids to dress their wounds, taught them simple English and also celebrated their birthday with them:) I have to say that kids there are really very appreciative of what they have. Even if they do not have parents and do not lead a luxurious life, they still have a beaming smile to welcome people and things to their life. This is something that we people nowadays fail to do. We are too used to complaining about what we don't have, sulking over what we can't do, but think back at these kids, they're still smiling and hopeful about their tomorrow. Thank God that these kids have extraordinary courage. There's this girl at one of the orphanages with this super deep cut on toe. We asked her if it's painful she pondered and said no. Then we helped her to dress her wound and when the antiseptic contact with a wound she cringed a little, and when we asked her if it's painful, she smiled and said no. What amazing courage a 6 year old child can have. If it's me, I'll probably scream in pain? I really feel rather embarrassed like often I'm crying over the slightest things, sad over the minor issues and such and their so brave. This really makes me ponder about what are the real priorities of my life as of now. I really really hope I'll go back to the orphanages one day with my own capability, I'll do something more for them:)

OMGosh can't actually believe that I actually WENT for DB rowing today:P It was a NICEEEEEE experience seriously!! It's my first time touching a paddle..first time on the boat..hmm feels great though!:D Have to agree that the team is really a bunch of fun-loving people:D and they're really friendly and nice!:D Although the warm up was tough..hmm no idea why but..hahha!:D but after that serious rowing was a lot easier:P Thanks to the Orange-Shirt-Canto-Speaking Uncle (no idea what's him name XD haha!) for teaching me a lot!!:D and Thanks to Issac too!:D for the nice constant reminder: lock your elbow:P hmm!!:D Seriously feels so enriching trying something new...

5 Stages of Love

5 Stages Of Love

What are the stages of love? Love develops between two partners in several different levels.

For love to endure, each level is important.

Let's break it down into five stages: (1) attraction, (2) romance, (3) passion, (4) intimacy, & (5) commitment.

Stage 1. ATTRACTION - a positive response to a person beyond friendship. This can further be broken down into two areas: (a) physical attraction & (b) emotional attraction.

a. Physical Attraction - happens when your body reacts to another person. Heart rate increases; temperature rises, palms get sweaty; stomach flutters; throat tightens; etc. This is the most superficial of "loves" on one level, but one of the most powerful on another. It represents the first contact.

b. Emotional Attraction - develops next if the circumstances are right. After being drawn to a person physically, you then begin to converse. If you find you have things in common -- hobbies, ideologies, career, education, or some other common ground -- then an emotional attraction starts to form.

An emotional attraction can also occur even when a physical attraction does not. And in this case, the bond may even be stronger between the two who connect, since no preconceived notions based on physical appearance has occurred.

Stage 2. ROMANCE - essentially an act of trying to influence or gain favor of another by lavishing attention or gifts upon them. There are two type of romance: (a) selfish romance & (b) selfless romance.

(a) Selfish Romance - occurs when you do romantic acts solely for the purpose of gaining something for yourself -- like to get gifts, to impress someone else, or even simply for sexual favors whether your partner is interested or not.

(b) Selfless Romance - occurs when you do romantic acts for the enjoyment and pleasure of your partner. You receive your enjoyment and pleasure through their happiness.

Selfish romance (& love) will quickly die out. Selfless romance (& love) will endure. Because romance is an "act," many couples who have been together a long time take it for granted. With a conscious effort, it can be rekindled.

Stage 3. PASSION - a desire for another person, which has grown to an intensity that can't be ignored. This is often where an emotional relationship turns into a physical relationship. The passion stage is very important. It's a plateau.

From here, the relationship will fork into two roads, and the couple must decide which path to take. The relationship will either burn itself out or will move onto the next stage.

Stage 4. INTIMACY - a close association with another person of the deepest nature. You share you thoughts, your feelings, your dreams. In true intimacy, there is nothing that you cannot tell this person (though we often hesitate because of our own unfounded fears).

Intimacy is not total in one swoop. It is a developing process, which never ends. If you can't establish intimacy with your partner, your relationship may work for a while, but is unlikely to endure throughout the years.

Stage 5. COMMITMENT - a pledge to remain true to your mate throughout good and bad times. Commitment is easy when times are good. Commitment can be extremely difficult when times are bad. Learn to ride out the bad times.

If you've made it this far, why give up? Listen to each other, be willing to compromise, and remember why you got together in the first place.

Love is worth the effort ...

Finding someone whom you can share these various stages with isn't easy..so really do treasure your him or her:)

Today's school was not bad..hmm minus the heavy bag with all the unused stuff:/ lunch was great! Nice economic rice:D hmm..dinner was relatively engaging:P with solo zh and mag at SAKAE SUSHI!! this time was quite unbelievable:P hmm..4 of us spent a total of $101.20 lik *popped eyes* haha!! hmm..nice chat over dinner:D Marcus managed to joined us for kidsread today lik aft dinner:) time past exceptionally fast today during kidsread:D probably because of the art and craft we're doing and I'm busy cutting ribbons for the kids:P hmm..I discovered my hidden talent for cutting ribbons today:P haha!! Nice tutu kueh eating time when I'm back home:D kk gotta go sleep liao..tmr's the suckiest day..frm 9am-6pm:( good night!!

Yesterday was really the longest day ever:/ woke up at 7.15am..met Mag, Solo and Zh for Mac breakfast:D hmm..then went Redhill for mentoring:P mentoring was fun as usual...every sat it seems to get better:D hmm..after tht went to Bugis Junction for Jap lunch:D ate ebi don!:D it's nice cause the portion ain't too big and leave your stomach with comfortable space for some light dessert etc:P haha!! went to cold storage bought some drinks and snacks then went nlb for KidsREAD course...hmm..ya and Bernard joined us:D hmm..it's was raining "horizontally"and heavily..so umbrellas are officially useless...hmm..lightly drenched me and mag with lightly undrenched guys went into nlb for the course tht lasted from 3-6pm...hmm..tht baked mash potato's nice!!!!:D haha!!:D aft the course..went on to Somerset..met Dean and go buy tickets for PA 2..tickets for 7.30pm sold out:( so we went for the 9.30pm movie with Serene and ST...first row somemore...but just really wanted to watch tht show so ya...hmmm...the show was nice but still not as nice as PA 1:/ hmm..reached home at ard 12.15 am...energy drained...cash drained too:/ I spent lik 60 plus dollars yesterday:/ mostly on food and drinks...haiz...bought a dress too:P hmm..time to save money!!!

Dr Sergei is super awesome!!!:D zzz...gel loading was scary though...:/ haha!!:D hmmm...super quick lunch at co-op...maggie with milo:D hmm..then went for CBO lecture...it sucks!:( our entire class were marked absent just because we weren't on time to hand in the 1 minute activity?! Then the entire lecture was about stuff that doesn't in any way seem like CBO to me:/ we're chatting and listening to music and playing games etc:P haha!! then went for OC lecture..hmm..sat beside kor...was chatting abt stuff..hmmm and the OMG chocolate pillows:/ poor ******:( hmm...then followed on with OC tutorial...went home with the usual ppl:D lots of jokes and laughter as usual!:D tmr's gonna be a LONG LONG day...hmmm...morning 8am meet mentoring ppl at mac eat breakfast...then go mentoring...then after that needa go bugis for KidsREAD registration frm 3-5pm...then after tht meeting friends for movie at 7.30pm...hmm:) kk I'll update abt tmr:D

First day of school isn't that bad after all:D lecturers are rather nice:D and kidsREAD was exceptionally fun today:D had a really nice dinner at Sumo House? hmm..maybe it's just not bad...:P hmm..bubble tea after that:D and loads of blind mice:D it's been long since I last had the feeling of being trouble-free...at least for that half an hour...hmm...little angels were so cute today:D hmm...especially Mia and Rista (not really sure if this is how you spell her name:/):D haha! Went mentoring today with FULL STRENGTH!!:D hmm...markuzy, hm, kel, zh, solo and me:D today's mentoring was better than ever..maybe caused it's our proposal and the kids were pretty cooperative today:D We played many games: "help-me-find-my-coin", blow wind blow, broken television/telephone (whatever you call tht:P) and colouring:D Phew actually initially I was quite afraid tht the kids might not like the idea of colouring...hmm..after all it's really not tht bad:D and they can colour quite well I shld say:D hmm...and I realise tht hello kitty is the most unpopular among the kids:/ haha!!:P aft mentoring went for lunch at the huge market with uncountable nice food stalls:D Ate century egg lean pork porridge with kel:D fulfilled my desire to eat tht since I'm back frm viet:D hmm...we chatted for like 3 solid hours?:P just enjoy the time when we're just talking about random crap but everyone's enjoying themselves laughing, sharing, etc:P we finished a total of 11 cups of sugar cane juice and soya bean drink!:D hmm..alt I'm only responsible for 1 cup:P haha! hmm..it's raining...good for the haze prob:D I'm going to do something to my hair tmr:P:P secret! haha

Still don't feel like posting abt Viet trip leh:/ a bit lazy...hmm maybe when I'm less lazy and have more time:P Anyway, went for mentoring today with solo, marcus, zhehuan...hmm...mentoring was...hmm..kinda out of expectations....hyper and the kids were woah...dunno how to say:P hmm..after tht went redhill market to have lunch...I realise tht there are like so many stuff I feel like eating after 2 weeks in Viet...chicken rice, laksa, nasi lemak, roast duck, century egg porridge, dim sum, etc. etc. hmm...it'll take me some time to fulfill all these cravings:/ and lots of calories:/ haha! after lunch...huimin went to meet her mum at tampines...left with me, solo, marcus and zhehuan....went lot1 arcade:D was quite fun though...the throwing-balls-at-screen-game:D just can't get the reaction right:/ haha!! hmm...then went for some dessert...I ate the milk pudding:D which is jiggly to marcus^^ oops! haha!! insiders' joke ya:P hmm...guys had shaved ice with strawberry, kiwi and mango toppings:D hmm...went to get some drinks aft tht at NTUC cause zhehuan said he needa replenish some saliva...hmm...he said he kinda run out of them...:P:P haha!! solo got the nutri tea, I got some medicine tasting orange juice:/ zhehuan got lime juice and marcus got reduced sugar soya bean milk....hmmm...all the drinks suck except for solo's one i can say:P haha!! and ya! marcus bought this devil horns hairband!!! and we took photos with it:D hopefully marcus posts it on fb soon:D went home after tht...hmm...really lik this kinda outings:D hmm...just talk random stuff..eat, drink and play...enjoy life:D meet up soon again ya?

I don't wish to make the judgment...I really don't...but you're leading me to think that way...the choice is yours to make...no one can force you...no one can control you...no one can limit you...if you really wanted something badly and work hard for it...It's like...you can give a child the best colour pencils and crayons ever...but if he refuse to paint...nobody can force him to...on the other hand, a child with only the passion for drawing...even without the colour pencils and such...he can still paint the best picture with a simple pencil...it's all his desire that determines...

Went Sakae Sushi today with Maggy, Ing Lee, Zhe Huan, Solomon, Bernard, Marcus and Jing Jie:D ate BUFFET!! (notice the caps! cause it's really...hmm) ate till hmm...a little scared of rice and sushi:/ haha!! hmm..but it's quite a nice experience though..:D lots of fun!!! and laughter:D After that went arcade...ya..to improve digestion:P haha! hmm..played the "hit-like-crazy" game:P (not sure what's the exact name:/) hmm..me and mag...*shake head* haiz...haha!!:P not as good as kelly:) haha! hmm...and there's this stupid fat man keep come tell me wear sch u cannot go arcade...and I'm like...hey! this is not sch u:/...manage to drag till we finish the games:P super tired and lazy after a huge meal and lots of games today:D fulfilling! I have to agree that kids are so good at imagination and mimicking animal sounds:D It's really fun to watch them play and when they insist that you play with them, there's simply no way you can reject them:D and they'll like tug at your sleeve and pls pls:D haha! so cute!!:P it's like you can really temporarily forget all your troubles, if only everything in this real world is that simple and sweet:P

Thanks Norra!! for inviting us to her house for visiting:D went Norra's house with kelly, ing lee, solo, zhe huan and mk...had nice lunch at her house and watch Tom and Jerry!!!:PP haha!! After that went Plaza Sing...decided to watch movie- Cats and Dogs...in the midst of waiting went arcade haha!...I have to say this: KELLY IS DAMN PRO AT ARCADE GAMES!!! haha!!:D went for the movie at 3.20pm...the show is well not really 5 star rating kinda show but ya..just light-hearted and hilarious:P "Raisin brain"!!!:P after that around 5 plus...went home...really nice traveling home with solo, zhe huan, kelly and ing lee:) Never stop laughing!! Can't stop finding things/person to laugh about!:P Oops! Zzz:/

IPC is over!!!:D Left with maths...on tue...then we'll be FREE!!!:D Today's an interesting day...lots to blog about...Early in the morning..9am went for IPC exam...after tht cab down to Swiss...disappointed++...only saw Ms Lim and 林老师...luckily met lots of 4e3 peeps and some old friends:D aft tht actually having lunch with Evan and Serene dear...then last minute...decided to go bugis meet To3 for Zhe Huan's "lunch meet+birthday celebration"...I'M REALLY SORRY EVAN AND SERENE!!!:( I PROMISE I'M GONNA MAKE IT UP SOME OTHER DAY, OKAY?:D On MRT to bugis...approached my some random sec sch guys who wanna take photo with me:/ I did this " O.o" emotion...then i said "Sry, I dun lik to take photo" and walked to the next cabin...they followed...WTH...then I alighted tht MRT and boarded the next train:( Met T03 at bugis...had a quick lunch...went for some games...I have to agree it's really enjoyable to watch guys gaming...haha!!:P

Despite tight schedules and hectic revision...sometimes it just feels great to just sit back and look at life macroscopically...life...is it really all about revision, exam, stress, etc. I'm sure there's more...fun, love and family of course...Just an advice, if you really feel stressed up regardless of studies or whatsoever...just ask yourself this question : WHY SO SERIOUS? Why so serious about studies...as in I'm not saying studies is not important...but is it EVERYTHING? Why so serious in relationships...again I'm not saying you shouldn't be serious in relationships...but accept it or not...no one is indispensable in this world...
